Oh, the war ain't for the oil or so Bush tries to say, but he'll send your sons & daughters, send them packin' on their way. And when the troops keep dyin' he'll send in many more, 'cause the war is for the oil, and he's their Corporate Whore.

In the end they want us lulled to sleep. Even Obama. He'll protect Cheneys ass because he wants to accomplish stuff rtaher than fight old corruption, old stuff that takes down any momentum on where Obama wants the spotlight. So this Administration won't open the files either because they want us working and paying taxes to pay down the bailouts and deficit rather than prostesing in the streets and making a mess of productivity and their trajectory.

So they'll throw us anothe cash for clunkers, or refrigerators program and we'll be too busy to pay attention. Really.

Over 8 years ago...........screw it already. We cannot turn back time. Focus on today and the future. Just my 2 cents worth.

i'd prefer SOME transparency and due process. How do we learn anything if we just ignore iffy stuff and move on? Having said that I'm not for making a Starr Chamber out of it either . but whio can restrain the media into non sensationalism?

My question is.............how can any of us change the IFFY stuff that has already occurred? What has happened has happened and none of us have any control of the past. That is my main point. You speak of other Countries that you have lived in. I and others really do not care. You live here now and this Country should be your first priority.

Wow

pickin' a fight?

This country is part of a globalized system and the sooner people understand that, and understand other countries, the better patriots they will be. This country IS my first priority, that's why it MATTERS to me what it does. I live here, I chose to NOT have my kids consider themselves anything but American, (trying to be British Colonial African Italian Irish American is just too much to keep track of!)

We can't change any iffy stuff. It's DONE. What we CAN change is our response to it. A less sensationalist process of justice brought to the elites and duly processed is what I'd like to see. Otherwise we just give crooks a pass, something you don't like welfare recipients and disabled to get! Why not go after the corrupt in high places and TEACH that we are actually equal in the eyes of the law?

Plus those that screw up a nation and drive it into a ditch should answer for it!

Not picking a fight here Charl. They ALL need to answer to us Americans. Never gonna happen because everything is corrupt. I hope you can agree with that. Whomever you vote for is corrupt. Promises promises. I hope you can see my point here. Money talks and bullshit walks. The money talks every day of or lives along with the bullshit. So where do we all go from here? Now that is a question that no one can answer because when these people get elected they get elected on promises and who raises the most money. Most promises are never kept. Now that is why I do not vote. Vote for the lesser of evils as I am told. So that basically tells me that they are are evil. Some less than others. Now I would ask you as to how to get rid of ALL corruption? NEVER GONNA HAPPEN! And that is a fact of life no matter what Country you live in.

So I vote for the least worst assholes because I am not hopelessly cynical. I believe, and history proves me correct that every now and then we get a real leader (rather than politician) in power that changes things for the better. I don't believe in abdicating responsibility and power that I DO have.

As for corruption, yes it will always be with us but if we combat it at every opportunity (this is where action reaction cycles can WORK) we can at least make the CULTURE of corruption less respectable... push back
